We believe family involvement is essential to success, in our classes and in everyday life, so we include many opportunities for families to get involved. Besides offering family discount rates, we host family activities throughout the year, such as picnics and awards nights. We also sponsor various activities to encourage positive life skills, such as BKA’s Good Grade Club and community involvement.
We are very proud to be the area's ONLY PROFESSIONAL MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL. We work hard each day to offer you the most complete training and to inspire each of our students to be everything they hope to be. We work closely with each student and their family to set personal goals and work on ways to reach and then exceed them.

At Brown’s Karate Academy, our goal is to teach the best of Master Shimabuku’s style of Martial Arts to those who truly want to improve their lives as well as learn a respect-oriented, well rounded and practical means of self defense.
In today’s world, it is more important than ever to be able to protect yourself and your loved ones. We incorporate age-appropriate self-defense into all of our classes, from Stranger Danger topics to Awareness training. It is with this in mind, that we offer you these classes. About Master Brown Master Lloyd A. Brown is the owner and head instructor of Brown's Karate Academy. He began his study of martial arts in 1971, at the young age of 11, and it has become his way of life ever since. Through his years of study, he has had the opportunity to study many different styles of martial arts, and has earned a total of 10 Black Belts in 4 different styles. Master Brown holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in TaeKwonDo, a 1st Degree Black Belt in Alo Kempo, and a 1st Degree Black Belt in Parker Kempo. Over 25 years ago he began studying Isshin-ryu Karate, the style that he still studies and currently teaches, in which he holds a 6th Degree Black Belt. Over the years Master Brown has consistently competed in tournaments all around the area, and won hundreds of trophies, including many Grand Championships. In 2009 he had the great honor of being inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Instructor of the Year. Of all his accomplishments in the Martial Arts, Master Brown takes the most pride in the rewards of teaching. Having the opportunity to help an adult gain confidence in themselves, or see a child beam with pride when they reach a goal they never thought they could acheive is what inspires him each day. In his many years of being a Martial Arts Instructor, he's had the opportunity to be a part of many personal victories for his students. Master Brown is very proud to be able to offer you his years of knowledge and experience, and looks forward to helping you acheive your own personal goals!
